An excellent portrail of the Extreme Measures people endure to live and survive. An excellent documentary on their lives.

My husband is a professor of Sociology of Marriage and the family, Anthropology. It was a christmas gift for him because he interested in this type of information. We have watched the first DVD and it is amazing to see how other cultures live their daily lives. The cinematography is outstanding and very creative in the shots. Only drawback, narration is hard to hear clearly at times.

I purchased this set as a gift for a granddaughter who is interested in the series. I expect she will really enjoy having it any time she wished to view it. The ability to order it on line was very convenient.

Mesmerizing story lines with top notch production quality and photography. We first saw the "Rivers" segment while over-nighting at a hotel, and knew we had to purchase the entire series. In our self absorbed world it's wonderful to learn of endearing human beings in distant lands that endure the most rigorous conditions and thrive. This should be required viewing. More please!

Without a doubt this is the most interesting series ever produced on television. Any age group can relate to it- it shows the everyday struggles, accomplishments, and lifestyles in cultures that were unknown to me until I saw this show. Whether you are a son or a daughter, a father or a mother, Human Planet gives you an up-close perspective on how other cultures interact as a human race.

I was expecting the Mike Rowe voice-over, so I was a bit surprised when it was the British version, but it is still a fantastic DVD set!

I bought this as a graduation present for my Fiance. He LOVES it. We watch a segment together every night and are just in complete awe of how amazing the human race is. It really puts my own life struggles into perspective. What were you doing when you were 16?? Probably not fighting elephants for water in the African desert.
Amazing production quality, cinematography, and so informative. I LOVE DISCOVERY!

My sister saw the documentary and told me about every episode.. she was so excited that she almost narrated every episode. When I watched I was amazed at the depths taken to make the film and also how I was enlightened about the way life of the different people that were featured. I have never seen anything like it....it is the best documentary that I have ever seen on television. I would recommend that every household order a copy. On a scale from 1-5 my rating is a 10 this is spectacular, big thank you to the film crew for their extraordinary talent and hard work to make this available to the public.

Humbling in that the simple things such getting a glass of water or something to eat, going to school all of which we take for granted, somewhere else in the world, people are actually risking their lives for. Beautiful cinematography.
