Remove wing nut from the air cleaner housing.
|
Lift top off to expose the air filter element.
|
Install the Tornado Fuel Saver. Reinstall the air cleaner top. That's it!

Remove air inlet hose, located
between throttle body Air filter box.
|
Install Tornado Fuel Saver, making sure it fits
snug tightly inside of hose.

Replace hose

Will the Tornado product void my new car warranty?
No! It is illegal for a car manufacturer to void the
manufacturer's warranty for installing an aftermarket device,
particularly since our product carries the CARB number.

My car has Electronic Fuel Injection. Where do I install the Tornado?
The Tornado unit fits in the air hose between the intake
manifold and the air flow meter. You will see a hose coming
off the engine housing going toward the air box. Often between
the air box and the engine is what is called an 'air flow
meter.' (Optional) To reset computer. Disconnect Pos. &
Neg. terminal on battery and reconnect. This will reset the
computer.

My car has an aftermarket intake. What Tornado can I use?
Most aftermarket intakes that consist of a metal pipe and cone filter require a ki-75.
To ensure proper fit, measure the inside diameter of the pipe at the end nearest the filter.

Special Circumstances - FORD
|
|
|
· 87 to 97 Pick ups (other than Ranger) require 2 ki-55 units, installed directly after the 'Y' or 'H' connector.
· 90 to 96 Rangers with 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder 2.9 and 3.0 liter motors require 1 ki-55 unit installed in to or near the throttle body.
· 98 to 00 Pick ups with 8 or 10 cylinders require 1 ki-85 unit installed in to the exit port of the filter box.
· 01 to 02 F150 requires 1 ki-80 unit installed in to the exit port of the air filter box. All other 8 or 10 cylinder trucks are still 1 ki-85 unit installed in the same location.
· 94 to 01 Diesel Pick ups (non turbo) require 1 ki-100 unit installed in hose after filter.
· 94 to 01 Diesel Pick ups (turbo) require 1 ki-65 unit installed after the turbo or intercooler.
· 94 to 01 Mustang GT models require 1 ki-85 unit installed on the throttle body side.

Special Circumstances - DODGE
|
|
|
· 94 to 01 Ram Pick ups require an aftermarket intake system. If the stock housing is replaced with a 360 degree round air filter then use part kc-40-c. If the filter box is re-located to the fender wall with a hose to the throttle body then use part ki-90.
· 95 to 01 Neon require 1 ki-55 unit installed near the throttle body.

To ensure proper fit of a 'ki' unit measure the inside diameter of the air intake hose. The 'ki' units come in 5mm increments and will fit 1mm smaller to 3mm larger than the specified unit. Ex: a ki-60 unit will fit a hose that measures 59mm to 63mm; a ki-65 unit will fit a hose that measures 64mm to 68mm; etc.
To ensure proper fit of a 'kc' unit remove the air lid cover and measure the height from the base of the housing to the lid at 3in away from the center. This is most easily accomplished by removing the air lid cover and placing a flat edge across the top of the air filter, then taking a height measurement from the base to the flat edge at 3 inches away from center. Then do the same with the lid. Merely add or subtract the lid height from the base height, depending upon whether the lid drops below the top of the filter or rises above the filter.
