I have read about and studied JFK for many years. I've also read about Robert Kennedy to a lesser degree. Finally, there is one excellent account of their lives and their family members that puts the whole story together. I found this mini-series excellent in every aspect. The characters were portrayed in true to life form. Never did I get the feeling that the purpose of the show was to portray the Kennedy family in a bad light. It simply told an accurate story in a powerful, dramatic way. I plan to watch it again and again...

Of all the movies and articles written about the Kennedy's, I felt this one to be the best - best acting, best script, and I believe, the most accurate. All the actors did a magnificant job - I lived through that era and this was, indeed, my first time to vote. I was 21 years old and like every other woman in America, I voted for JFK simply because he was so good looking... had no idea what the issues were!

And, oh yes, to Kathy in Haddonfield,NJ - you may have voted for Kennedy but you were not 18 - you had to be at least 21. 18 year olds could not vote until the 26th admendment was passed in 1971, almost a decade after Kennedy's death.

Neither a polemic nor a paean, this well-written and well-acted portrayal of the dynasty that dramatically affected American politics for four generations shows "warts and all." Its approach is elegantly captured in a single line delivered by Rose Kennedy in a rare private moment with Jackie, portrayed with almost frightening reality by Katie Holmes: "The men we've married have great gifts ... and great flaws." Yet, the truth does not detract from the qualities that millions admired in this family. Greg Kinnear is so naturally and uncannily like JFK it is difficult to believe you are not watching the man himself. Tom Wilkinson captures Joe Kennedy's driven personality masterfully. A delight to watch on many different levels.

All the actors did a wonderful job! It seemed so real. He was the first president I voted for when I was 18. It was like living it over again but learning more details. I couldn't wait to watch the next episode!
