Based on Anthony Hope's swashbuckling adventure tale, these two epic versions of the story are collected on this special edition DVD. The movies both revolve around a drugged prince the night before his coronation to his throne and a look-a-like who steps in to keep the prince's evil brother from usurping the crown. The 1937 version features Ronald Corman, Madeleine Colman and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. The 1952 version stars Stewart Granger, Deborah Kerr and James Mason.

      Comments about this product:

You can't beat a Ronald Colman movie, period.
Class personified and a voice for the ages.
Interestingly, the Stewart Granger film is a shot-for-shot remake of the original film; hardly any dialogue changes either. Enjoyed James Mason as Count Rupert of Hentzau.

          Comments about this product:

This double set of adventure films is a must for older viewers and people who appreciate the golden days of cinema. Ronald Coleman in the original Prisoner of Zenda! Deborah Kerr in the remake.........! I bought this set originally for my parents to watch, but have since gone back to buy the set for myself.
